1. Introduction
Lexdate ("we", "us", "our") provides a practice management application for advocates, covering the Allahabad High Court (Prayagraj and Lucknow benches) and CNR-based lookup for the Supreme Court of India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our mobile application and website (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
2. Information we collect
Account & registration information
- Name, email address and mobile number
- Advocate-on-Record (AOR) roll number and the court bench it belongs to
- Chamber name and, where applicable, enrollment number
- A hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)
Case & matter information
- Matters, hearings, notes and priority flags you add or that are matched to your AOR from the public cause list
- Case status, order and listing-history data cached from the relevant court's own public records
Device & usage information
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token, used solely to deliver push notifications to your device
- Basic technical data such as app version and device type, used for troubleshooting
Payment information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay or Paytm. We do not store your card, UPI or bank details on our own servers — we only receive a payment confirmation and a transaction reference from the payment gateway.
3. Court data & public records
A core part of the Service works by matching the daily cause list — a public record published by the relevant court — to your registered AOR roll number, and by fetching case status, orders and listing history that are already public on the court's own website. This court data is not private information you give us; it is publicly available record that we organize for your convenience. We verify your AOR against the court's own live advocate directory at registration so that this matching works correctly.
4. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, including OTP-based email verification at registration
- To match public cause list entries and case updates to your practice
- To send you notifications — daily cause list alerts, evening reminders for the next day's hearings, and alerts when a new order is detected for a matter you are tracking
- To process subscription payments and manage your plan
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including rate-limiting and fraud prevention
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

We may also disclose information if required to by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Lexdate, our users, or others.
6. Data security
Access to your account requires a bearer token issued after authentication, and every request is scoped to your own chamber — other chambers' matters and clients are never returned to you. Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text. Payment webhook callbacks are cryptographically verified before any plan is activated. While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Data retention
We retain your account and matter data for as long as your account is active. Cached public court data (cause list entries, case status, orders) is refreshed periodically and older cached records are periodically purged, since the source of truth remains the court's own website. If you delete your account, your personal account data is removed within 48 hours of your request, except where we are required to retain records for legal, tax or dispute-resolution purposes (such as payment and GST records).
8. Your rights
You can review and update your profile information, including your AOR roll number, from within the app. You can delete your account yourself from the app (More, then Delete account). You may also request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request deletion, by contacting us at the email below or by following the steps on our account and data deletion page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Cookies & website tracking
This marketing website uses only the cookies strictly necessary for it to function; it does not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. The mobile app does not use browser cookies. The website loads its typeface from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address when a page loads.
10. Children's privacy
Lexdate is a professional tool intended for practicing advocates and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app.
