Delete your account

You can delete your Lexdate account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. This page explains how, what happens, and what we may have to keep.

1. How to request deletion

In the Lexdate app (fastest)

Open the app and go to More, then tap Delete account.
Enter your password and tick the confirmation box.
Tap Request account deletion. You are signed out on every device straight away.

Your account is deleted within 48 hours. Changed your mind? Sign in again before then and the request is cancelled.

By email

If you cannot use the app, email privacy@lexdate.in from the email address you registered with, with the subject Delete my Lexdate account, and include your name and AOR roll number so we can confirm the request is yours. We aim to complete email requests within 48 hours of verifying them.

2. What we delete

We delete your account and the personal data linked to it, including:

Your profile: name, email address, mobile number and AOR roll number
Your push-notification token, notification history and sign-in credentials (your password is stored only as a one-way hash)
If you are the only user of your chamber: its matters, hearings, notes, uploaded documents, clients and fee records

Shared chambers: if you are a member of a chamber with other users, only your own account is removed and the chamber's data stays with its owner. If you are the owner of a chamber that has other members, remove them first (or email us to have the whole chamber deleted) — the app will tell you if this applies.

3. What we may keep

Records we are legally required to keep, such as payment, invoice and GST records for a paid subscription, for the period the law requires. They stay on file without your personal details.
Public court data. Cause lists, case status and orders that we have cached come from the courts' public records, are shared across users and are not personal data you gave us, so they are not removed with your account.

4. How long it takes

Your account is deleted within 48 hours of your request. Backup copies are rotated on a rolling schedule, so any remaining copy of your data ages out of our backups within 30 days after that.

5. Before you ask: subscriptions

Deleting your account does not by itself stop a recurring payment set up through your payment provider. If you have an active paid plan, please cancel auto-renewal first (see our Refund & Cancellation Policy) or tell us in your email and we will help.
